Networking visit for Emerging Researchers
Brussels
18-20 January 2027
What to know before applying?
The CZELO office (Czech Liaison Office for Education and Research in Brussels) and its partners are organising a networking study visit in Brussels on 18-20 January 2027. The main aim of the visit is to enhance the ability of emerging researchers in the field of biodiversity to navigate the European research and innovation landscape, broaden their professional networks, and strengthen their engagement with key EU-level stakeholders. The target group consists of early-career scientists (R2–early R3 level) from Bulgaria, Czechia, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and the United Kingdom.
Over the course of a 3-day study visit, participants will have plenty of networking opportunities and learn about major EU funding instruments for researchers, as well as effective strategies for building networks and collaborative projects. The programme includes presentations from the European Commission, COST Association, ERC Executive Agency, and national contact points, offering practical insights into advancing scientific careers and developing successful research proposals. A dedicated institutional visit to a Belgian university will be part of the programme.
Which institutions are co-organising the study visit?
- Bulgarian Liaison Office for Research,
- Czech Liaison Office for Education and Research (CZELO),
- Polish Science Contact Agency (PolSCA),
- Slovak Liaison Office for Research and Development (SLORD),
- The Leibniz Association (Germany),
- UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
An online introductory session with a presentation of the final programme will be held aproximately one week before the study visit in Brussels.
The visit will take place in various locations around Brussels. The first day's programme will be held at the Bulgarian Permanent Representation to the EU (Sq Marie-Louise 49, Brussels), while the second day will take place at the NCBR (Rue Belliard 40, Brussels). The last day of the programme will be devoted to a site visit to a local research institution.
The deadline for submitting applications is November 8, 2026.
