During her Ph.D., she focused on the development of circadian rhythms throughout the ontogenesis of mammals at the Institute of Physiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Due to the public appeal of this topic, she regularly popularized chronobiology and sleep science for broader audiences. While on maternity leave, she devoted even more effort to science communication – becoming a science journalist for Vědavýzkum.cz, a unique online platform covering all aspects of science. She also joined the Zeptej se vědce! (Ask the Scientist) project, where she now holds the position of fundraiser. Since October 2024, Vendula has served as the head of science communication at Palacký University in Olomouc.

Tereza earned her Ph.D. in immunology and later studied genome organization and gene transcription during her postdoctoral research. Upon returning to the Czech Republic, she joined Jan Konvalinka’s team at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, where she develops specialized molecules to fine-tune the immune system for treating diseases like cancer.

In 2021, she co-founded Ask a Scientist! (Zeptej se vědce!), a platform where people can ask questions on any scientific topic. Experts provide answers, which are reviewed by another scientist to ensure accuracy and reliability. As one of the chief editors and moderators, Tereza ensures the answers are clear and engaging, driven by her belief that everyone should have access to tools for understanding and appreciating science.

Lucia is a molecular biologist specializing in molecular diagnostics at Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna, where she uses multi-omics and big-data driven approaches to identify biomarkers for complex diseases. Already during her PhD at EMBL, Heidelberg, she developed a strong passion for data visualization and visual communication of science. Since 2021, she has expanded her efforts to engage the general public by creating accessible and informative science content. Through her Instagram profile @kreslim_vedu, she transforms complex scientific concepts into clear and captivating infographics. In addition to the visual storytelling, Lucia is dedicated to promoting scientific literacy, striving to make science approachable and inspiring for all.

Aleš graduated in sociology from Charles University, Faculty of Arts, and completed his PhD in the Netherlands, focusing on higher education policy. He founded and ran for 5 years an online portal, Vědavýzkum.cz, covering various aspects of science policy. Together with three other authors, he published a book on science communication. Since 2022, he has held the position of vice-dean for external relations and development at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Charles University.
