Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC)

Yann-Maël Bideau is Team leader in the Higher Education Unit of the DG EAC in the European Commission.


Yann-Maël is working on the European Universities alliances, the Jean Monnet action,  quality assurance in higher education and the European degree. Before joining the European Commission in 2019, he worked as a language teacher and in the field of university cooperation in France, Czechia, Slovakia and Belgium.

Aleksandar Šušnjar

European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR)

Aleksandar Šušnjar is the Director of the European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR).


His role includes Secretariat management, external representation, supporting the EQAR Register Committee and implementing EQAR’s strategic and operational plans. He previously worked at the University of Rijeka (Croatia) where he acted as the Institutional Coordinator for the university’s involvement in the YUFE Alliance.

Silesian University in Opava

Radka Kubalová is a university lecturer at Silesian University in Opava and a member of the University Academic Senate.


She is involved in the STARS EU European University Alliance, where she serves as Co-Leader of Curriculum Lab and contributes to alliance activities focused on curriculum development, internationalisation and quality assurance with the focus on joint educational initiatives and cooperation between European HEIs.

Ragnhild Solvi Berg

Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-Dir)

Ragnhild is the Senior Adviser & Head of Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir) Brussels office at Norwegian Cooperation Office for Research, Innovation and Education (Norcore). Since 2016, she follows EU education programmes and policies from here. Between 2010 and 2016, she was seconded to the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education and Culture (DG EAC) as a national expert, focusing on international cooperation and programmes. She holds an MA degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Bergen.
