Enhancing international education: Improving interaction between domestic and international students

In this workshop, we will explore firsthand experiences from both domestic and international students at Czech universities. Together, we will identify effective strategies and approaches to improve student engagement across diverse groups in both in-person and virtual (digital) classrooms.
The session aims to provide participants with a practical guide for academic staff, featuring actionable suggestions for fostering meaningful interactions.

Speakers
Dr. Shanton Chang
Professor of Information Behaviour and Information Systems at the School of Computing and Information Systems, The University of Melbourne, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Mestenhauser Institute for International Collaboration. He has extensive experience in international education, including student recruitment, teaching across cultures, and international education strategy. He also holds the role of Associate Dean (International) at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.
Dr. Eva Janebova
Founding Director of the Mestenhauser Institute for International Collaboration. As an expert in international higher education, she provides support to universities in the EU, with a particular emphasis on the internationalization of the curriculum and leadership. Eva serves on the International Education Advisory Board of Morgan State University and teaches at Palacky University.
